Perhaps the question that should be asked as the character limit is expanded by Facebook for status updates is not is it enough space, but if the race to become the ultimate one-stop shop is reaching a climax or just starting to heat up?

I hope I’ve created as comprehensive a collection of links about the topic of Twitter chats as possible. Inspired by a session suggested during PublicMediaCamp Georgia on August 14, 2010 at Georgia Public Broadcasting’s headquarters in Atlanta.
Recently I’ve had several encounters with individuals that felt things were going better than they actually were based on my status updates on Facebook and Twitter. Does it mean that I should be more truthful with my updates or that online networks have now become just a little too public?
Are we getting to the point where we’re abusing the Internet and leading folks to not trust anyone or anything? It may be something that we have to take a look at – no matter how funny the joke may be to those instigating it…
Sometimes we have to find ways to reduce the stream of information from the fire hose, or determine which tool fits the needs at that time. We also need to be aware of the different levels of understanding about how these new digital communications tools work.
